UBC Curriculum MAP

The Office of the Provost and Vice-President Academic has led the creation of a UBC website to support program curriculum mapping called Curriculum MAP. The page allows UBC users to map and visualize the alignment between course learning outcomes, assessment methods, and teaching and learning strategies, as well as the alignment of courses to program learning outcomes. This tool aims to support instructors who wish to:

  • Engage in discussions about sustainable and immersive learning opportunities,
  • Visualize competency/learning outcomes in a course or a program, and
  • Support program decisions.

Use the Curriculum MAP

Centre for Teaching and Learning

The Centre for Teaching and Learning can provide consultations and workshops for teaching, learning, and curriculum development (including writing learning outcomes), as well as guide or assist course, assessment, and curriculum development initiatives within Faculties or Departments.

Program-Level Learning Outcomes or Competencies

As stated in Shaping UBC’s Next Century, under strategy 12 on program redesign, UBC is moving toward using learning outcomes as a primary organizing principle of program structure and completion. This work requires meaningful collaboration between students, faculty, staff, and in many cases, alumni.

If your department or program requires support in identifying or evaluating program-level learning outcomes, please use the contact information below for support and resources.
