3M National Teaching Fellowship

The 3M National Teaching Fellowship is one of Canada’s most prestigious awards in recognition of teaching excellence and educational leadership. The fellowship is open to any individual currently teaching at a Canadian university regardless of discipline, level or term of appointment.

Nominations & Deadlines

Nominations for the fellowship occur each summer and are triggered by a call for nominations. The Office of the Provost typically receives the call for nominations in the summer months from the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education (STLHE). Individuals self-nominate for this award, usually coordinated through their home academic unit.

The Office of the Provost and Vice-President, Academic provides the institutional letter of support for inclusion in the nomination package. Nomination packages are to be provided to the Provost prior to submission to STLHE. The Centre for Teaching and Learning can provide assistance in the preparation of the nomination package.

Learn more about the fellowship and particulars on how to compile a nomination package. Applicants/Heads are invited to contact Brad Wuetherick, Associate Provost, Academic Programs, Teaching and Learning, early in the nomination process for advice and feedback regarding nominations.
