The Academic Integrity team at UBC Okanagan can support faculty members to familiarize themselves with the university’s academic integrity policies, procedures for addressing academic misconduct, and resources available to support ethical learning environments for everyone.

  • Centre for Scholarly Communication

    Helping Students, Setting Up Your Course, and Setting Up Your Research

    The Centre for Scholarly Communication (CSC) seeks to enhance research productivity by connecting student and faculty researchers with supports and tools at every stage of the research life cycle. Through a partnership with Advanced Research Computing, the Office of Research Services, and the UBC Okanagan Library, the Centre for Scholarly Communication functions as an information hub for research support services at UBC Okanagan. The CSC offers researcher support through regular events, self-guided resources, workshops, in-class/ lab workshops and individual consultations.

  • Centre for Teaching and Learning

    The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) provides professional development in teaching and learning, integration of technology into teaching and learning, and supports scholarly approaches to curriculum and pedagogy through the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL).

  • College of Graduate Studies

    Getting Started and Helping Students

    The College of Graduate Studies (CoGS) provides oversight and support for graduate programs, collaborating with academic and administrative units to maintain high-quality programs. They offer admissions services, advocates for students, graduate programs, and postdocs, and ensures the efficient and transparent administration of programs and awards. The College is committed to upholding the standards of a globally recognized university degree. Additionally, they organize a wide range of academic, professional and wellness workshops in partnership with campus and industry collaborators to enrich the graduate student experience.

    Setting Up Your Course and Setting Up Your Research

    Constellation is a suite of emerging media and technology learning spaces enabling UBC Okanagan students and faculty to push the boundaries of innovation and learning. Explore the Constellation network to learn more about the exciting suite of media and technology learning services that can take your next project into the stratosphere. Spaces are available for use by all UBC Okanagan students and faculty.

  • Equity and Inclusion Office

    Helping Students and Social Equity

    The Equity and Inclusion Office (EIO) envisions a community in which human rights are respected and equity is embedded in all areas of academic, work and campus life. They work to engage the UBC community in creating culture change and improving systems, practices, and processes that shape how UBC students,  faculty and staff work and learn at UBC. They work in partnership with Faculties and units to offer educational opportunities, address emerging needs of the university’s diverse communities and support to  equity, diversity, and inclusion student, faculty and staff initiatives.

  • Experiential Education

    Helping Students and Setting Up Your Course

    UBCO’s Experiential Education Initiative aims to implement a strategic framework to help facilitate student access, awareness and participation in transformative learning experiences both within and outside of the classroom. The aim is to support faculty and staff in creating and sustaining these initiatives across teaching and learning. This strategy is informed by the commendable work of the Experiential Learning Task Force (2019) and the collaborative efforts of the cross-campus Experiential Education Roundtable, all while being guided by UBC’s Strategic Plan.

  • Human Resources

    Career Progression and Getting Started

    UBC Okanagan Human Resources supports individual and organizational success through best people practices, collaborative advice and education. Their team is responsible for the planning, implementation and management of employee relations, recruitment and employment processing, orientation, staff benefits, training and development, classification and compensation. From navigating your first days at UBC to finding resources to advancing your career, Human Resources has a comprehensive range of services, resources and information designed to ensure that you’re equipped to grow, develop and succeed.

  • Human Rights Advising

    Helping Students and Social Equity

    Human Rights Advisors offer confidential consultations on discrimination issues and provide impartial information and advice to staff, faculty, students or other impacted members of the UBC community. They work with relevant parties to resolve concerns informally, where possible, and assist with filing formal complaints, as appropriate.

    Consultations can be a proactive way of avoiding discrimination or can be in response to a discrimination concern.

  • IT and Engagement Services

    Getting Started
    UBC Okanagan’s Department of Information Technology provides IT-related strategy, applications, infrastructure, and support services to the Okanagan campus. Providing services from multimedia production to wireless internet access, they ensure that leading-edge technology is readily accessible to faculty and staff to complement your teaching and administrative experience.
    UBCO IT’s Engagement Services works collaboratively with UBC Okanagan academic, research and administrative units to ensure the IT services we provide meet your evolving needs, are sustainable, follow best practices and align with the strategic goals of the university.
  • Learning Technologies

    Getting Started, Helping Students, and Setting Up Your Course

    Technology is a powerful tool in the design and delivery of education. The Centre for Teaching and Learning works closely with faculty to leverage existing technologies (such as Canvas and Gradebook) as well as new technologies (such as gen AI and immersive tech) towards learner-centered, technology-mediated learning experiences.

  • Office of Research Services

    Setting Up Your Research

    The Office of Research Services (ORS) is the central administrative office for research support at UBC Okanagan. They work closely with researchers to facilitate grant applications, oversee research accounts and ensure research compliance at UBC Okanagan.

    Research Computing (RC) provides direct specialized IT support for UBC Okanagan researchers. This includes project consultations, hardware & software setup, configuration, troubleshooting, quoting, and research data management solutions & guidance.

  • Sexual Violence Prevention and Response Office

    Helping Students
    The Sexual Violence Prevention & Response Office provides confidential, trauma informed, identity affirming, and culturally safer support to UBC students, staff and faculty of all genders who are affected by sexualized violence, harassment, domestic violence or harm regardless of where or when it took place. They actively create opportunities for people to explore safety, healing, accountability, justice, community and leadership. SVPRO delivers innovative programming, supportive workplace trainings, and comprehensive prevention education in order to disrupt the root causes of violence, address incidents as they occur, challenge rape culture on campus and build empathy and understanding of trauma to support survivors.
  • Student Experience of Instruction

    Career Progression

    Students have a crucial perspective on the quality of teaching and learning at UBC, which they are invited to share by completing Student Experience of Instruction (SEI) surveys. The SEI surveys are administered at the end of each term by the Planning and Institutional Research Office. SEI reports are released to instructors following the submission of grades. These data can be used by instructors, departments, Schools and Faculties to reflect on opportunities to improve courses and the student experience, support reappointment, tenure and promotion decisions, guide department and program reviews and more.

  • Student Learning Hub

    Helping Students and Setting Up Your Course

    The Student Learning Hub provides free learning supports in a variety of modalities – online, in-person, and self-guided. UBCO students from all disciplines and year levels are invited to access supports from both peers and professionals, including content tutoring in a wide range of subject areas and writing and language consultations. If you have a student who could benefit from these services, you are encouraged to refer them to the Student Learning Hub early to ensure they receive the maximum benefit.

  • UBC Okanagan Library

    Getting Started, Helping Students, and Setting Up Your Course

    UBC Okanagan Library is an active partner in supporting faculty members in their research and teaching at UBC’s Okanagan campus. Subject librarians and library staff can support all aspects of your work, including information literacy instruction for your classes, access to resources, course reserve requests, one-on-one research support, and much more.   • University Relations

    Career Progression

    University Relations raises the profile of UBC’s Okanagan campus, supporting in the planning and coordination of campus-wide protocol, ceremonies and events, communications and marketing. They work with stakeholders across campus and with colleagues at UBC Vancouver to support the administration, departments and Faculties in achieving UBC Okanagan’s goals.
