Program for Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE)

Broadening access to and enhancing undergraduate research experiences is a central priority in UBC’s strategic plan. As such, the university has committed $1 million in strategic funds over two years to fund the Program for Undergraduate Research Experience (PURE).

A call for proposals for innovative pilot projects launched on January 7, 2019 and is open to faculty, staff and students from both the Vancouver and Okanagan campuses. Funds may be requested for one year (up to $50,000) or two-year projects (up to $100,000).

More details about the competition, including eligibility, proposal guidelines, assessment criteria and review processes can be found on the UBC Research + Innovation website. In addition, information sessions about the competition will be held on both campuses.
