Associate Provost Enrolment & Academic Programs
Office Location: ADM 119D
Reporting to the Provost, this new position will provide administrative support and leadership for faculty and academic program development, including oversight of the evolving experiential learning platform.
The Associate Provost will also play a significant role in strategic enrolment management of both domestic and international student recruiting and marketing initiatives, adding to our campus aspirations to work effectively as a UBC system.
Dr. Lasserre is an associate professor with a background in computer science and is well known in our community for her academic achievements and committed administrative leadership.
With her past accomplishments, Dr. Lasserre brings tremendous expertise to a role which will develop more fully as we continue to work across our campus and across the UBC system in establishing our reputation for the highest-quality educational environment for students and faculty
Dr. Gordon Binsted
Associate Provost Academic Health Initiatives
Office Location: ARTS 360
The position will be held concurrently with his Dean’s position. An active researcher in the field of human kinetics, Dr. Binsted has served as Dean since 2012. He has also served in various other UBC Okanagan capacities, namely that of AVP Research and most recently, Dean pro tem of the Faculty of Education.
Working through the Provost’s Office, the Associate Provost, Academic Health Initiatives, will provide leadership and oversight for health-related academic programming on our campus, excluding that of medical education.
In this role, Dr. Binsted will be expected to create partnerships and to work collaboratively with colleagues and senior staff to ensure that relevant constituencies are involved in the development and implementation of the portfolio’s strategies and initiatives, ensuring that quality education programs related to heath are available to students.
The Associate Provost is also expected to foster strong academic and research links among health-related disciplines.
